Meaning

Don't invite those people that aren't there when you need it. In a friendship or relationship that person should want to help, if they make excuses to not help you than they don't deserve bragging or respecting you when you get out of it and become a better and different person.

They didn't help; they don't deserve praise if they did nothing.
