Top 10 Things to Do When Sick

We all have those periods where we want to do something however we have something in the way. Whether a headache, puking, flu, disease or something on our mind, to the point it's constantly distracting us and it physically hurts to think.

Fortunately, there are some things to do even with these issues that are still productive, starting with:

  1. Drinking Water

I know it's simple, but it is highly productive. Water helps your body transport nutrients and cells across your body which can help you recover faster. So, if you want to do more productive activities, it starts with water.

  1. Drawing

It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just little doodles or easy drawings that you are already decent at so that it requires less brain power. This can lead you to still feeling good about yourself while also avoiding any need to sit and do nothing in bed

  1. Pinterest

Spending time just scrolling Pinterest and sorting through your "Look at Later" folder so that we you do recover you've got things already that you want to do. You get a similar boost as Drawing and can use this accomplishment to continue being productive.

  1. Play an Easy Game

Spending time with yourself is never a bad thing when sick. Simply play a game you haven't played in a while and just have fun with it. No need to try all out on it, just do some fun activities that you like to do, make mini games with yourself and have a bit of fun.

  1. Play Calming Music

Mainly without headphones so it doesn't trigger your headache again, but having something going on in the background can make other tasks feel easier and less boring.

  1. Corner Cleaning

Because you've been sick and likely laying down, get up, do a little stretch break and take 10 ish minutes to clean a corner of a room. Preferably not the kitchen as the sound of dishes or metal may increase your headache.

  1. Go Outside

Breath fresh air. Oxygen is great for your recovering body so get lots of it. If you cant go outside, open a window or get a fan thats clean and have it blow at you. You'd be suprised how good it feels

  1. Get Stuff Ready for the Week

I only reccomend this one if you're consistent. You shouldn't need to think too hard about what you need because again, we're trying to keep our thinking minimal. Get your clothes, snacks, lunch, or anything else you may need ready. This can also include regular hobbies that you do. Maybe you like trying new recipes, use pinterest and lay out the ingredients for when you feel like it.

  1. In Bed Stretching

Good way you incorporate moving without using energy. Do little foot wiggles, roll your shoulders, stretch your neck, or even do some yoga if your body is up for it. Its great way to keep your body physically moving and relaxed without using any energy!

  1. Dusting

Dusting is often a task forgotten about by mostand is often done insconsistently. Plus, it takes barely any brain power other than "top to bottom". So, maybe its about time to get that duster out...
